At Discover Church, we believe worship is more than what happens on a stage.  It is a response to who God is and what He has done. We want every person who walks through our doors to encounter the presence of God, experience authentic community, and take their next step toward Jesus.

We are looking for a passionate, Spirit-filled Worship Director who can lead people in worship while building the teams, culture, and leaders that make those moments possible.

The Worship Director will work closely with the Lead Pastor to provide leadership and vision for worship across Discover Church. This person will lead our Worship and Production teams, develop and shepherd leaders, and help create worship experiences that are dynamic, Spirit-filled, excellent, authentic, and grounded in truth.

This is more than a weekend worship position. We are looking for a shepherd/leader who loves people, develops leaders, builds healthy teams, and understands that the ministry happening behind the scenes is just as important as what happens on the platform.

The right person for this role is a worship leader first and a builder at heart—a capable vocalist and instrumentalist who can lead a room, develop people and ministry, bring strong technical and AVL expertise, and collaborate with others to create worship environments where people can genuinely encounter Jesus.

• People Developer: This leader invests in the spiritual and musical growth of volunteers through hands-on mentoring and healthy modeling. They develop leaders from within and cultivate a culture where feedback is welcomed and given with grace.
• Collaborative Operator: This leader brings systems thinking, structure, and follow-through to a growing campus environment. They ensure scheduling, team health, and service quality are managed well, while communicating effectively across worship, production, and campus teams.

About Discover Church

Discover Church began with a dream and calling in the hearts of Jernigan and Jessica Schwent and launched in August 2018 in the Northland of Kansas City. Since then, Discover has continued to build a strong foundation of people, values, vision, and healthy systems.

Today, Discover is a multisite church with campuses in the Northland and Liberty, averaging around 550 people across both locations. We are in an exciting season as we continue to strengthen our campuses, develop leaders, and expand our ability to reach people throughout Kansas City.
